Can I put my cutting board in the dishwasher?

Absolutely not. Exposure to prolonged heat and moisture from a dishwasher will cause the wood to warp, crack, and potentially harbor bacteria. Hand-wash only with mild soap.

What type of oil should I use?

We highly recommend food-grade mineral oil, or a beeswax/mineral oil mixture (often called "board butter" or "wood wax"). Avoid cooking oils like olive oil or vegetable oil, as they can go rancid over time.

How often should I re-oil my board?

This depends on usage, but a general rule is once per month, or whenever the board looks dry or faded. If water no longer beads up on the surface, it's time to re-oil.
